The mechanics of Rooted Remedies are centred on contract fulfilment and resource management; challenging players to complete as many objectives as possible to achieve the highest amount of points. Contracts are completed by successfully collecting and managing multicoloured dice.

Besides developing the main game mechanics, I played a huge role in developing the illustrations for the visual assets.

For example, I designed the characters above, taking reference from the Qing Dynasty era clothing and its feudal system to create the "customers" players would serve when playing.

Aside from being the main illustrator, I was also in charge of bringing the game to life through its packaging.

The main challenge I faced during this part of development was finding a way to store all the different parts into a single box. Creating personalised boxes and organisers solved this issue and now not only is this game playable, but compact as well!
